Can we taste your gelato before booking?
Carretto does not have standalone stores for walk-ins. You can taste our gelato flavours. at select events, or by contacting us directly to arrange a tasting opportunity prior to booking.
Do you have flavours that suit people with dietary requirements?
We offer dairy-free sorbets for guests with dietary requirements. However, our kitchen is not nut-free, gluten-free, or fully vegan, and trace elements may be present. For safety, we do not recommend our gelato for guests with severe allergies or anaphylaxis.
Does the cart need power?
It would be appreciated if you can provide power (1 x 10 amp) within 20 metres of the cart location.
How much room do you need?
Our cart requires a minimum space of 2.2m height x 2m width x 2m depth.
Can the cart fit through a standard sized doorway?
No, a standard doorway is 80cm wide and our cart requires a minimum opening of 100cm to fit through.
Can the cart be set up on a slope?
No, that would be unsafe. Our cart is heavy, we require a flat surface to set up on.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Cart delivery and pick-up is included within 20km of Tullamarine. Beyond this, a $2 per km travel fee applies.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, a 50% deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remainder due 1 month before the event.
Is the deposit refundable if I have to cancel my booking?
Deposits are refundable minus a $50 administration fee if cancelled more than 1 month before your event. Cancellations within 1 month of the event are non-refundable.
What happens to my booking if I need to reschedule my event?
You may reschedule your booking at no cost with at least 1 month’s notice. For reschedules within 1 month of your event, a $50 rebooking fee applies.
When do you arrive at an event?
We arrive approximately 1 hour prior to your booked serving time to unload, position, and set up the cart.
Can I request you to come earlier to set up?
Yes, if you need us to arrive earlier than our standard 1 hour setup time, we can absolutely do that. Any setup requested earlier will incur a minimum fee of $150, depending on the location and when setup is required.
Can I choose flavours for our event?
Yes, you’re welcome to choose your preferred flavours from our current menu. Our service is ‘free-flowing’, meaning your guests can enjoy unlimited gelato throughout the booked serving time. Please note that not all flavours may remain available for the full duration (i.e. if one runs out, service will continue with the remaining flavours).
What happens if the weather is unsafe?
If the weather becomes unsafe (like heavy rain, strong wind or extreme heat), we may need to pause, delay, or move the cart to a safer spot. We kindly ask for your help relocating if needed.
