On the 27th of September, we had the pleasure of celebrating Joel and Katrina’s beautiful wedding at Ballara Receptions, one of Melbourne’s most charming and consistently stunning venues. Set on the terrace overlooking the gardens, the atmosphere was the perfect mix of fun and romantic, and with 140 guests attending, it was the ideal spot to bring our cart to life.
Serving Gelato on the Terrace
Joel and Katrina arranged a custom gelato package, with 1.5 hours of service during canapés time. The terrace space where we were located gave guests plenty of room to mingle, laugh, and wander over for a scoop (or two!) while enjoying the sunshine and the backdrop Ballara is known for.
Ballara’s staff were, as always, incredibly helpful and organised, making the entire service smooth from start to finish.
The Flavours of the Day
The couple selected a crowd-pleasing mix of flavours that had guests returning throughout the service:
- Hokey Pokey
- Roasted Almonds & Burnt Caramel
- Lemon Sorbet
- Ferrero Rocher
The undeniable standout of the afternoon was the Roasted Almonds & Burnt Caramel, a flavour that had everyone talking. The groom especially couldn’t get enough of it, and it quickly became the hero of the cart for the day.


A Sweet Moment for the Couple
Joel and Katrina made sure to step away from the celebrations for a moment to enjoy a scoop together. We captured plenty of photos, a lovely touch that perfectly reflects the relaxed and joyful vibe of their day.


Part of Their Canapé Hour
Since our service took place during canapé hour, we wrapped up just as guests moved inside to begin the main reception. Even though we weren’t present for the speeches or traditions that followed, we were thrilled to play a part in setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.
