Can we taste your gelato before booking?
Carretto currently operates through various channels, including events, catering, and collaborations. While we don’t have standalone stores for walk-ins, you can often find us at events or contact us directly to inquire about upcoming opportunities to sample our delightful gelato flavours.
Do you have flavours that suit people with dietary requirements?
Yes we can cater for dietary requirements, however, although we take the utmost care in our preparations, we are not a nut free, vegan or gluten free registered kitchen so trace elements may occur. We politely recommend that anaphylactic (highly allergic) people to not consume our gelato.
Does the cart need power?
We have our generator, but if you are able to supply us with power that would be great! We need 1 x 15 amp. The cart needs to be on a close to as flat surface if possible.
How much room do you need?
Our cart requires a space with minimum 2.2m height x 2.5m width x 2m depth.
Can the cart fit through a standard sized doorway?
No, a standard doorway is 80cm wide and our cart is 100cm wide.
Can the cart be set up on a slope?
No, that would be unsafe. Our cart is heavy, we require a flat surface to set up on.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Cart delivery and pick up is included in the packaged price. Locations more than 20km from Tullamarine, will incur an additional travel fee – $2 per 1km.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, a 50% deposit is required to secure your booking, and the remainder is due 1 month prior to the event.
Is the deposit refundable if I have to cancel my booking?
Deposits are fully refundable minus a $50 administration fee if you cancel 1 month before your event. After this period the 50% deposit is non-refundable.
What happens to my booking if I need to reschedule my event?
Your booking will be transferred to the new date at no cost, as long as you provide a minimum 1 month notice. For notice of less than 1 month a $50 re-booking fee will apply.
When do you arrive at an event?
We arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to your booked serving time in order to unload, position and set up the cart.

Can I have extra service time?
In our experience the timing included in our packages is usually plenty to serve all of your guests! If you are after a longer service time, additional service time is $80 per half an hour.
